BAIDO Volunteers Needed!

Be a key part of the largest network of NGOs and internationally-minded individuals on the West Coast! Volunteering with BAIDO provides valuable experience and training, and gives you the chance to connect with many others who care about the international community.

We're now looking for enthusiastic, skilled and knowledgeable volunteers in the following areas:

1)     Public Events
Description: Help plan and/or assist with panel discussions and other events.
Required: Good organizational and communication skills.
Benefit: Organizing and publicity experience through events about international issues.

2)     Online Marketing
Description: Create fresh ideas for online marketing of BAIDO products
Required: Experience with or enthusiasm for creative online sales strategies.
Benefit: Practical marketing experience that plays a key role in strengthening BAIDO.

3)     NGO Outreach
Description: Contact international NGOs in the Bay Area to invite them to join BAIDO. Required: Good organizational, communication and follow-up skills.
Benefit: Contribution to the strength of BAIDO and contact NGO professionals.

4)     Organizational Research
Description: Conduct research for various BAIDO projects and events.
Required: Excellent research, writing and compilation skills.
Benefit: Gain knowledge of local nonprofit organizations working internationally.

5)     Website Updating
Description: Update pages on the BAIDO website and perhaps create new pages.
Required: Experience with HTML and/or Dreamweaver and careful design sense.
Benefit: Website skill exposure to thousands of monthly site visitors worldwide.

6)     Campus Outreach
Description: Spread the word about BAIDO to your school or alma mater.
Required: Interest in education and promotion of international development issues.
Benefit: Opportunity to share knowledge and BAIDO with future leaders.

Volunteer Logistics: You can work independently from your own computer, on your own phone, and at your convenience (no commuting!). You must have regular Internet access.

Volunteer Time: All volunteer positions are part-time and compatible with school or work. We ask for at least a 2-month commitment, with an average of 3-5 hours per week available.

Volunteer Coordination: Supervision is very limited, so volunteers need excellent follow-up, self-starting and time management skills. Volunteers only have meetings when necessary, and communicate mostly through e-mail and occasionally by phone.
