"Whose Business? A Handbook on Corporate Responsibility for Human Rights and the Environment"

by Nautilus Institute

"Whose Business? A Handbook on Corporate Responsibility for Human Rights and the Environment" is a valuable tool for educators, students and activists. It provides the novice with a simple, accessible overview of globalization. The handbook explains how and why globalization has negatively affected human rights and the environment, how these negative consequences are interrelated and what options exist to help regulate globalized business.

Incorporating real examples of key human-rights and environmental issues, "Whose Business?" illustrates how a lack of global oversight has left a gap that local regulations in developing countries cannot fill. It then outlines efforts to fill the regulation gap and push for social responsibility.

The handbook includes pages of resources on globalization. It also provides practical tools for getting involved, including a sample consumer letter and a guide for researching a corporation.

"Whose Business?" is a product of the California Corporate Accountability Project (CAP), a collaboration of the Nautilus Institute, Natural Heritage Institute, and Human Rights Advocates. It is available for free download (PDF format) at www.nautilus.org/cap.
